Phone Number & SMS Verification
When you choose to verify your phone number, we collect:
- Your phone number, used solely for sending a one-time verification code via SMS
- Verification status (whether your phone number has been verified)
Your phone number is processed by our SMS provider, Twilio, for the sole purpose of delivering verification codes. We do not use your phone number for marketing, promotional messages, or any purpose other than account verification. Your phone number is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.
Location Data (Bump Mode)
When you enable Bump Mode, we collect your real-time location to identify potential matches nearby. Location data is:
- Only collected when Bump Mode is actively enabled
- Used solely for proximity-based matching
- Not stored beyond the active session unless you choose to save a Bump match
AI Interview Data
Our AI assistant, Grace, conducts a conversational interview to understand your personality, values, and relationship goals. This includes:
- Your responses during the AI-guided interview
- Voice recordings if you choose the voice interview option
- The personality and compatibility profile generated from your responses
Device & Technical Information
- Device type, operating system, and version
- Unique device identifiers
- IP address and general location derived from IP
- App usage data, crash logs, and performance metrics
- Push notification tokens
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: Create and manage your account, display your profile, and facilitate connections with other users
- Match & Recommend: Power our Divine Match scoring algorithm to suggest compatible matches based on faith, values, personality, and preferences
- AI Processing: Enable Grace, our AI assistant, to conduct interviews and generate compatibility insights
- Communication: Facilitate chat, video calls, and audio calls between matched users
- Bump Mode: Enable proximity-based matching when you opt in to location sharing
- Squad Features: Support Squad Dating and Set Up a Friend functionality
- Safety & Moderation: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our community standards
- Improvements: Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service, develop new features, and enhance user experience
- Notifications: Send you relevant updates, match notifications, and messages (with your consent)
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
4. AI & Data Processing
Grace Interview
Our AI assistant Grace conducts a structured interview to understand your values, personality, and relationship goals. The data collected during this interview is:
- Processed using advanced language models to generate your compatibility profile
- Used exclusively for matching purposes within the Service
- Not sold to or shared with third-party AI training datasets
- Stored securely and associated with your account
Matching Algorithm
Our Divine Match scoring system uses AI to analyze compatibility across multiple dimensions including faith alignment, values, personality traits, and lifestyle preferences. The algorithm:
- Generates a compatibility percentage between users
- Does not make autonomous decisions about relationships
- Serves as a tool to help users identify potentially compatible matches
- Is continuously refined to improve accuracy and fairness
We are committed to responsible AI use. Our AI systems are designed to facilitate genuine connections, not to manipulate or deceive users.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following categories of recipients:
- Other Users: Your profile information (name, photos, bio, faith details) is visible to matched users as part of the dating experience.
- OpenAI: Your Grace AI interview responses and profile data are processed by OpenAI's API to generate compatibility profiles and conversation starters. This processing is conducted under a Data Processing Agreement that prohibits use of your data for AI model training.
- Agora: Call metadata (user IDs, session duration) is shared with Agora to facilitate in-app voice and video calls. Audio and video content is not stored.
- Twilio: Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely to deliver SMS verification codes during account setup.
- RevenueCat: Your user ID and subscription purchase data are shared with RevenueCat for subscription management, purchase validation, and entitlement tracking.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: Subscription billing and in-app purchase processing is handled by the respective app store platform you use.
- Expo / Apple / Google: Your device push notification token is shared with these platforms to deliver in-app notifications about matches and messages.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Child Safety (NCMEC): We are required by law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) to report confirmed Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) via their CyberTipline.
- Safety: We may share information to protect the safety of our users, investigate fraud, or respond to safety emergencies.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

7. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account remains active
- Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, we remove most personal data within 30 days, including your profile, photos, messages, and match history
- Verification Data Retention: For the safety and security of our community, identity verification data — including government ID images and verification selfies — is retained for up to one (1) year after account deletion. This data is stored securely and is used solely for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and user safety investigations. After the retention period, this data is permanently destroyed
- Bump Mode Data: Real-time location data is deleted when Bump Mode is deactivated
- Messages: Chat messages are retained until the conversation is deleted by both parties or the account is deleted
- Backup Retention: Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days after deletion
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Data Portability: Request a machine-readable copy of your data
